Elements of Style 118611 w or 120045c Elements of Style - Clear-Mount Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

I love this stamp set. I'm forever pulling out that flourish to add dimension to all kinds of projects. I love the big flower image, It makes a beautiful background, or a beautiful focal point, or it's gorgeous watercoloured. I really enjoy the Life is a Matter of Moments Phrase and that pretty little For You just fits EVERYWHERE. The bird, well, he doesn't have a whole lot of ink stains on him, I'll be honest. He's quite a nice little birdie, he just doesn't make many appearances on my projects. It doesn't matter anyways, I've used all of the other ones so many times I've more than made up for it.

This is the only card I could find in my stash using this set, which doesn't make sense because I use it regularly. And by regularly, I don't mean every four or five months, I mean every month, several times a month.  The only thing I can think of it that I've given away all of the cards I've made using this set, which is probably accurate, considering many of my favorite cards do in fact use this set.

Quadruple S L S five

I always get a liddle giddy, I mean a little giddy when I find a coffee or tea themed stamp set in our catalog.

Once, several years ago, I even bought a coffee themed stamp set from another stamp company.

I know!!!!

Try to pick yourself up and recover. I've never actually used that stamp set....but I had good intentions. (The story of a good stampers life....!!!)

When I saw this one Tea Shoppe 125545w or 125547c Tea Shoppe - Clear-Mount StampI thought that I had died and gone to heaven.

Then, just when I didn't think things could get any better, they gave me this Stampin' Around Wheel to go with it Take a Sip 120323 OOPS. NEVER mind it's already gone.....sold out. BUT you can still get the Tea Shoppe Stamp set for another few days.

Do you remember that cute hot chocolate package we made using this set?

Or the T-Disc gift holder I made?

Or the fun embossing technique we did and then filled the pretty cup with flowers?

Oh, there's just so many samples I could show you. I truly love this set. I doubt that I will ever part with it.

Head to my online store and order your own before it's gone!

So Sad it's Saying So Long Session Four

So today I've got some good news and some bad news for you.

Which do you want first?

I'm waiting.....

This is going to take awhile isn't it?

Fine, we'll start with the bad news and get it out of the way. This lovely little flower stamp is saying so long.....

Quint-Essential Flower Wood-Mount Stamp SetNot only does it have a lovely name Quint-Essential Flower 126790 but it's so pretty and so versatile. My online store has this to say about it

If you like versatile stamps, you'll love the Quint-Essential Flower! This dainty and decorative stamp includes multiple floral images--perfect for card and scrapbook page embellishments. Use with the 1/2", 3/4", and 1" Circle Punches and the 1-3/4" and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punches for perfect coordination.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Now obviously this card is black and white, but wouldn't that flower be lovely in pink, or blue, or green or yellow or a mixture of both?

See that pretty brad thing in the middle of the flower? Those are the superinsanelycool Designer Builder Brads 129329 from the current mini catalog (that is also ending soon). I miss our old builder brads that were available years ago....but lemme tell ya, these ones are sooooooooo neato. I punched out the middle of the Quin-Essential flower and made a brad out of it!!!

Now, you may be super-observant and notived that there are TWO OTHER RETIRING STAMP SETS on this card.

Gulp.

Made for you 126340w or 126342 as we discussed in SSSSLS Session 2

and, oh my goodness I don't even know if I can say it out loud.

Circle Circus 115778w or 127784 Circle Circus Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

I just. can't. believe. they're. letting. it go. Sob. Sniffle. Sigh.

Here's another (mostly) black and white card using Circle Circus.

I guess I promised you some good news after all of that, didn't I? It's good news, but I'm not sure anything can make a person feel better after that fountain of sadness.

The Basic Black and Whisper White are not retiring!!! Black and White cards will continue to exisit!!!

OK.

Lame, I know.

Throw me a bone, would ya?

So Sad it's Saying So Long Session Three

Kindness Matters.

It really does.

And the stamp set is beautiful too.  Kindness Matters122900c  or 122902c
It's a small stamp set, and it's an affordable stamp set. And it's a  versatile stamp set. And I'm really sorry it's leaving.

Kindness Matters Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!

Me, I love butterflies. I love that butterfly image. I love to stamp it in an ink pad, I love to color it with markers and ....wait for it.....hold on tight....brace yourself......I don't even mind cutting out the images!

I ended up getting this baby for free when Stampin' Up! was offering it as a choice at Sale a Bration a couple years back. Since then I've used it many many many times. Sometimes being a demonstrator rocks you know. I can get all kinds of freebies, previews and special offers as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. You can too you know! AND, actually if you really want to know, you can get a much better deal on stuff that I can when you purchase the demonstrator starter kit. Is there $195 worth of stuff in the catalog you want right now? Would you like to only pay $125 for it?  Then head here  and click on Join The Fun to read more about it, or phone me or email me and I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Oh, and for goodness sake, don't miss out on this stamp set....it's only around for a couple more weeks.

So Sad it's Saying So Long Series Session two

This post might get me teary eyed. Oh, just sooo much sadness here.

I am not sure that I want to live in a world that doesn't include Baja Breeze.

That's right, if you missed it, there are a bunch of colours retiring too....Scroll down a bit and find the colour refresh post.

Some of the other wonderfullness that is disappearing soon in this beautiful card that we made the other night at one of my favorite stampin' groups are:

Bordering on Romance 125480w or 125482c  Reasons why I love this set: it's just so damn pretty. Those flowers are beautiful for watercolouring. I love those two border stamps. The flowery one can also make a beautiful background on a card. And the scallop-y one looks beautiful stamped alongside one of our pretty embosslits or a scored edge using the Simply Scoring tool.
Tearing up here people.  Bordering on Romance - Wood-Mount Stamp

also Made for You 126340w or 126342c This set I just got this past year and I wish I bought it years ago. OK fine, it wasn't available years ago, but I sure have used it alot this year. It's got everything you need in plain and simple format, which goes against everything I usually love in a word set (note the inform font....that's not normally me, but I do love me this one). I mean, when CAN'T you use 'especially for you' ??????   You know what the best best best part of this set is????? It fits in lots of punches, and I love that. They're all pretty much the same size stamp, so if it fits in one punch, they all do. I love that. And I did it on that card I just showed you too.

Pass the Kleenex would ya? Made for You Wood-Mount Stamp Set

and of course the Watercolour Crayons.

Sob.

There's just no words.

Don't miss these things people. Just don't.
Online store. Now.

So Sad its Saying So Long Series

New Catalog season bring so much excitement, but it brings lots of sadness as well. As demonstrators, we are not allowed to demonstrate retired product. Some of these items in the catalog become our favorites, our 'go to' if you will. It's hard to say so long.

As customers...you guys can do whatever the heck you want.

One of the stamp sets I'm going to miss dearly is Word Play 120308w or 120651c
Word Play Stamp Set - by Stampin' Up!
I love love love the mixed up fonts in this set. If you've been paying attention....you should already know how much I love greeting sets with messed up fonts. I love every stamp in this set. How can you lose with this one? a baby stamp, a birthday stamp, a wedding stamp, a sympathy stamp, a grad or retirement or move stamp, a thank you stamp, a christmas stamp, a get better stamp...and some you can use for ANYthing stamps. This deserves a big happy face right here.       :-)

hmm. That was pretty lame. Let's try that again.

OK, so here is one of the thousands of cards I've made using this set. This was a fun one because we pulled out an oooooooolllllllllldddddddd technique....stamping with bleach. I don't know why I don't do it more often, I love the look, and I love the smell!

(it's ok if you just thought that I was wierd right there, I know I am, I love that I am)

If you're gonna be a stampin' with that there bleach you're gonna wanna make yerself a lil bleach ink pad. I folded up a napkin, set it in an empty stamp case and soaked it with bleach. The gel kind works great, but it doesn't have to be. You want the napkin to be saturated, but not dripping wet. Just tap your stamp onto the napkin as if it were a plain old Melon Mamba ink pad, then stamp on your paper. Not your jeans.

Let's just say you were the kind of person who often cleans their stamps on their jeans (not mentioning any names here)..you'll want to be careful that you don't just do this with bleach. Don't ask me how I know.

You'll want to experiment with the wetness of your napkin to get the look you want. On this card I also dipped a Stampn' Sponge into bleach and dabbed it around the edges and corners of the card. Looks pretty cool.

When you're done, clean your stamp and block well. Rinse it under water well, then condition it with Stampin' Mist spray.

SS: Word Play CS: Summer Starfruit, Melon Mambo, Basic Grey  INK: Basic Grey and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Markers  ACCESSORIES: Designer Series Paper Stacks Neutrals, BLEACH, Stampin’ Sponge, 1/8” mini brads Silver, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Pinwheel Sizzlets Die, Color Spritzer Tool
Color Spritzer Tool - by Stampin' Up!
The Color Spritzer Tool (107066) is retiring too....I love this one as well. Me and Mr Color Spritzer go in fits and spurts. We forget about each other for awhile, and then when we're lonely and looking for some fun in our lives we find each other again. Either way, I probably won't part with my tool. I love it, and often when I'm looking for just a lil sumthin extra, it's my color spritzer tool.

The point of this post is to NOT MISS OUT ON THE THINGS YOU LOVE. Soon you won't be able to get them anymore. Visit my online store right this second and place your order.....

Yes, it's true that I'm planning on spending the entire day in my stamp room....I'm due, and I have to get ready for a ridiculously fun filled class on Thursday night and catch up on a couple of swaps....so I'm quitting the video. Please click the link though and watch it....these flowers really are beautiful. And easy. Which we like. Right?

Silly Skittles fun

Have you seen this commercial?

We see it regularly on Teletoon. I adore commercials. I think some of the most creative people in the world are commercial writers.

Of course most commercials are absolute crappity crap crap. But every once in awhile there's a brilliant one. This one makes me laugh too....

I'm not saying that one was brilliant...I'm saying it made me laugh.

So my ridiculously adorable nephew and I were playing the other day and he says "open this door and look for Skittles". I thought whatever, I'll play along. Then he grabs his head and yells "ow" and falls on the floor. I can hear my sister laughing in the next room, and she tells me that they saw this funny Skittles commercial the day before. She was talking about the aforementioned Skittles commercial. When he fell down, he had just 'been hit by the paw'. Oh. Em. Gee. That's freaking cute.

Sooo....his third birthday was this weekend. I made him this card.

Get it?

If I had more time I would have made that first window spill out real Skittles and I would have made an even cooler pop out mechanism behind the other door. I was going to make a big paw come out of it but my nephew doesn't like when the cougar growls (on the tv version, there is no growl), so I thought I'd just leave it like this.

I still think I'm pretty fantastic.

And boy, do I love that kid.

Remember back in the day when the arrive at your door scrapbook kits were all the thing? Stampin' Up! is doing something like that but with way cooler things (of course).  I'm really excited about it and you should be too.

I know alot of people. And I mean alot of YOU who love to have a little creative escape once in awhile but you can't be bothered coming up with an idea, or hauling out all of your stuff or you can't find time to get out of the house and join a regular scrapbook or stamping club or class or maybe there just isn't anything offerered near you?

Stamp clear out!

I'm cleaning house (well not my whole house, that would just be silly...and I'm starting to like the cobwebs).

All sets are $5 each unless otherwise specified. Most are gently used, a few sets are well loved, some are either not used or barely used. Feel free to email me or leave a comment here if you want to inquire about a certain set.
Pick up at my house, or I will mail and add the postage to your bill.
